- 9 December 2024: Manali experienced more snowfall today. While the town saw light snowflakes, nearby spots like Solang Valley, Atal Tunnel, Gulaba, and Rohtang Pass received heavy snowfall. The road beyond Solang Valley has become very slippery, and police have advised tourists not to travel beyond this point. Around 100 tourist vehicles got stuck in the snow on the slippery slope near the south portal of the Atal Tunnel (Dhundi), located 13 km from Solang Valley. Police teams were sent to rescue the stranded vehicles and ensure everyone’s safety.

- 23 November 2024:Rohtang Pass, Marhi, Atal Tunnel, and other high-altitude areas in Manali received their first snowfall of the season. Many tourists were excited to see fresh snow at these popular spots. Rohtang Pass got light snow today (Saturday), which caused the temperature to drop. Manali had been waiting for snowfall for a while, hoping it would bring relief from the dry weather and attract more tourists. While Manali town got just a little rain, the snow at Rohtang is expected to last only a few days.
- 5th November 2024: The winter season has begun, and the night temperature at Rohtang Top is below freezing. However, the weather is dry, and there has been no snowfall yet. As a result, tourists won’t find snow at or near Rohtang Pass, Atal Tunnel, or Lahaul Valley. On the bright side, water sources near Rohtang Pass have started freezing, causing a layer of ice to form in the morning and evening.
- 02 September 2024: The mountains near Rohtang Pass are getting fresh snowfall today. The temperature is staying low, giving people a break from the heat.
- 27 August 2024: The mountains around Manali, including Rohtang Pass and Atal Tunnel, have seen fresh snowfall, possibly the first of the season. The temperature in Manali has dropped quickly, with daytime temperatures around 25°C and nighttime temperatures close to 14°C.
- 30 May 2024: Rohtang Pass, Marhi, Gramphu, Koksar, and Kunzum Pass received fresh snowfall. Rohtang Pass and the nearby areas already had plenty of snow, adding to the excitement for tourists. However, nearly 500 vehicles got stuck when they started skidding on the snow-covered roads. This happened because the travelers didn’t follow disaster management guidelines. Fortunately, the Manali police quickly helped and safely evacuated everyone.
- 17 May 2024: Marhi is now open for tourists, and visitors can enjoy the snow there. There’s plenty of snow at Beas Nullah, located 17 km before Rohtang Pass. Rohtang Pass is expected to open for tourists by the end of this month or early June. Apart from Marhi, tourists can also see snow at Koksar in the Lahaul Valley, about 7 km from the Atal Tunnel.
